How I Got Into SFX Makeup

Special Effects Makeup has been apart of my life for a while now, about 5 years. It has allowed me to show my creative side and entertain all of you while doing it. Makeup calms me down and mellows me out. At this point, I couldn't imagine my life without it. Anyway, I first got into SFX Makeup from the show Face Off on the channel Syfy (not to be confused with the movie Face/Off). I remember the first makeup look I ever saw on the show. It was season 2 episode 8. It was titled "Burtonesque." An artist named Rayce created a "Cellist" look so memorizing, it had me hooked immediately. All of the beautiful details, the shadowing, the painting, the cello; everything was just so perfect. As soon as I saw it, I thought to myself, "thats it, I'm going to try to do this." I have been creating looks ever since then. And while I do not do extravagant looks that they did/do, I still try to do my best work in the little things I do. I want to thank every single one of you for supporting me and always having kind words. It means so much. I hope you continue to enjoy my work because there is plenty more to come!
